BRIAN RUSSELBURG SILVERVISAGE IMAGERY
Biography
Brian Russelburg is a graduate from Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis and holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, graduating with distinction.
As a child Brian was equally influenced by the work of photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson and the illustrations of Roger Dean. Also inspirational were artists, Maxfield Parrish, Alphonse Mucha and various Impressionist artists. During his childhood he created fictional cartoon characters and created comic books. As a teenager he constructed his first darkroom. Currently he is painting with oil paints, watercolors and acrylics. He has painted in 6 Plein Air events. He is also skilled working with photographic materials, processing silver gelatin film, photographic papers. and with digital photography via Adobe Photoshop. He was hired as a Sports Photographer in 2012 to cover local High School Sports..
In 2012 Brian created, organized and curated Reflected Light: A Midsummer Art Exhibition, an open invitational for artists in Indiana. He returned to curate Reflected Light again in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 through 2022. . In 2015 Reflected Light ventured east creating an additional show in New Castle IN. Brian created, organized and was co-curator for the first Marion County High School Art Exhibition, in 2013, through the Garfield Park Arts Center, partnering with the City of Indianapolis, and Make Indianapolis Beautiful. . Brian was appointed Co -Organizer, and Curator, by the Hendricks County Arts Council, for the inaugural Hendricks County, juried, high school art show, Make an Impression for 2015, through 2022. Make an Impression is an annual, 8 high school, juried, art exhibition, awarding financial grants to gifted high school artists throughout Hendricks County, Brian has worked with the Hendricks County Arts Council and with Main Street Plainfield.
Brian served a term as president of the Hendricks County Arts Council. He is also a member of of the Hoosier Salon and his art work has been on display in art exhibitions throughout Indiana.
